Akwa Ibom State Bursary Programme: The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, has approved the disbursement of bursaries to all students from Akwa Ibom State enrolled in public tertiary institutions.

This was disclosed by the Personal Assistant to the Governor on Students' Afffairs, Comrade Wisdom Emmanuel, on Monday, February 10, 2025.

The Governor’s aide explained that Governor Umo Eno has made a 100% increase to this year’s bursary from ₦10,000.00, which was paid to eligible students last year, to ₦20,000.00 this year, while students pursuing professional courses such as medicine, law, engineering, agriculture, education, etc., will receive ₦30,000 each this time around.

He emphasised that the government has made the bursary payment process seamless and free of charge, as all that is required of students is for them to visit the state bursary portal at https://bursary.akwaibomstate.gov.ng/login to register, urging them to beware of scammers.

“The registration process is completely free and can be completed on your mobile device. No fees, levies, or dues are required at any stage. Do not fall prey to scammers,” he stated.

Comrade Emmanuel thanked his boss, Governor Umo Eno, for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of students, assuring him of their unending loyalty and support.

Requirements:

To be considered for the bursary, applicants must possess the following:

1. Valid Student Registration Number

2. Student ID Card

3. Admission Letter

4. State of Origin Document

5. Last School Fee Receipt

6. Passport Photo

Application Deadline: 30th April 2025

Payment Details:

All payments will be transferred to a valid bank account. It is imperative that the bank account name corresponds with the name on the school documents.

Step 1: Visit https://bursary.akwaibomstate.gov.ng/.

Complete the registration form to create an account.

Step 2: Login

Log in to your account to finalize your details and upload necessary documents such as Student ID Card, Admission Letter, State of Origin, Last School Fee Receipt, and a passport photo.

Step 3: Payment

Upon verification of your details, the bursary amount will be disbursed directly to your bank account.
