FG Insists on School Closure and WASSCE Cancellation, WAEC Considering Shifting Exam Dates
;
The federal government through the Minister of State for Education, Chief Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, says it does not have the confidence yet to proceed with the re-opening of schools in view of the increasing number of COVID-19 infections as released by National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The Minister said this while responding to questions from journalists after the eighth virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said the decision to keep schools closed remains unchanged and the West African Examination Council (WAEC) has also started consultations with other West African states on a possibility of shifting dates.
