Mixed reactions have trailed
Davido’s failure to fully observe the mandatory three weeks National Youth Service Corps orientation programme.
The pop star jetted out to
Boston in the United States for his ‘Locked Up’ tour, and cut it short to fly
back to Nigeria. The reason he gave for this is the conflicting schedules in
his tour dates and NYSC programme.
However since the singer
returned to Nigeria, he is yet to return to the NYSC Orientation camp in Iyana
Ipaja, Lagos. Rather, he has been supporting his uncle, Senator Nurudeen
Adeleke’s governorship campaign in Osun State.

Nigerians as usual have been
talking about how the popstar is publicly flouting the NYSC rules. Reno Omokri
however came to his defense saying people criticizing him are only being
hypocritic.
Omokri sighted examples of the
President’s children saying they both graduated but never observed the NYSC
scheme.
He said; “To those accusing
Davido of flouting NYSC rules, i ask you: Have you seen any of President
Buhari’s children in NYSC uniform? Zahra graduated. Did she serve? Yusuf the
power bike rider, did he serve? Hypocrisy will kill Nigeria before corruption”
