The Catholic Relief Services is
inviting applications for CRS International Development Fellows Program (IDFP)
for the 2018-2019 academic year. International applicants (must be legally
authorized to work in the United States) can apply for this CRS international
development fellowship program.
The goal of the IDFP is to
place fellows in positions where they can draw on their previous education and
work experience while broadening their skills.
Catholic Relief Services
carries out the commitment of the Bishops of the United States to assist the
poor and vulnerable overseas.
Scholarship Description:
Application

Course
Level: This 8-12 months fellowship
program is awarded to increase overseas experience and exposure to CRS programs.
Study
Subject: Fellowship is an opportunity
for people interested in careers in international relief and development with a
faith-based organization to experience the programs overseas.
Scholarship
Award: CRS provides IDFP participants

of Scholarships: CRS offers 20-30 fellowships
each year.
Nationality: International applicants (must be legally authorized to work in
the United States)

Eligibility for the Scholarship:
Eligible Countries:
International applicants (must be legally authorized to work in the United
States) can apply for this CRS international development fellowship program.
Entrance
Requirements: The following criteria must
be met in order for applicants to be eligible for these fellowships:
Graduate degree in field
relevant and applicable to international development (e.g. Agriculture, Health,
Engineering, Business, Public Administration, Finance, Supply Chain)
Fluency in English with strong
oral and written communication skills
Professional proficiency in a
second language (preference given to major languages spoken where CRS works)
At least six months overseas
work or volunteer experience in a developing country (consideration given to
applicants with at least five years of experience living in a developing
country)
Strong interest in a career in
development or emergency relief
Willing to work in various
regions and developing countries around the world
Able to work respectfully and
professionally in a cross-cultural environment
English Language Requirements:
Applicants must have professional proficiency in French (preferred), Spanish or
Arabic. Fluency in English, with strong analytical, oral and written
communication skills is also required.
How to Apply:
There are 3 steps required to
successfully submit your application for the CRS Fellows 2018-19 application
cycle. Please follow these instructions carefully for consideration:
Draft your cover letter for the
IDFP program. The cover letter should address the following:
a. The volunteer and/or work
experience that you have had overseas.
b. The issues/challenges you
might face working for Catholic Relief Services as a fellow in a developing
country.
